Las Vegas: The International Playground

Las Vegas: The International Playground
February 12, 2014

We all know Las Vegas. It’s America’s Sin city—because what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. But did you know that Las Vegas is also the international playground? A shining jewel in the middle of the dessert, Las Vegas is a booming industry in itself, last years gaming revenue reached $9.4 Billion dollars and over 39,000,000 people visited the sinful city. Every person in America knows about Las Vegas. It’s the land of gambling, sex, drugs, and a little bit of rock and roll.  It’s a shotgun wedding, and a girls weekend away. You can pretty much do anything in Vegas, and the day you leave is the day you leave it all behind: a perfect international playground!

To most Americans, Las Vegas is at most a four-hour flight away. It’s a great weekend away to indulge in all of life’s guilty pleasures. Many memories and tall tales stem from the city and it is the center of performances by world-renowned performers. There are musicians, magicians, daredevils, and the random semi-talented street performers. Las Vegas if the perfect destination if you’re on a budget or if you have millions to blow—anyone can have fun in Las Vegas.

This being said, the city is also the vacation destination of many international travelers. Last year, 17% of the 39,000,000 visitors were citizens of other countries. Las Vegas is also the gathering place of many international company conventions.  A recent study even provided statistics that say international tourists, spend 200% more than domestic travelers. For every $4 spent in Las Vegas, $1 is spent by an international visitor.

While other international travel destinations try to mimic the Las Vegas experience, the world simply cannot deny that there is nothing like Vegas! As long as we are human, the world will always flock to the city of sin—and that is a fact one simply cannot deny.
