INGCO International Recognized for NAWBO Innovation in Service Award

October 19, 2015

We are excited and honored to announce that we have been selected to receive the Innovation in Service Achieve! Award on behalf of the National Association of Women Business Owners-Minnesota (NAWBO-MN).

The 2015 NAWBO Achieve! Award celebrates the hard work and determination of 17 Minnesota woman-owned businesses that were selected across a variety of industries and categories.

The National Association of Women Business Owners – Minnesota Chapter (NAWBO-MN) provides an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to connect with their peers. Women business owners join together for networking, educational programs, mentorship and support. Nationally, NAWBO was founded in 1975 to open doors for women entrepreneurs by transforming public policy and leveling the playing field. Representing the issues and concerns of women-owned businesses at the national, state and local levels, NAWBO is at the forefront of advocating on behalf of women business owners and the issues that impact their companies.

I am honored to join the ranks of hundreds of Minnesota women that have received this award in the past, and will receive it in the future. As a woman, I don’t believe that I expect or deserve special recognition for my work. What I do believe is that woman need to be shown that entrepreneurship is not only possible, but is a substantial and essential impact on our community’s economy. When I accidentally started this company (that’s a whole other story!) almost 10 years ago, I had never been exposed to the possibility of being a business owner and had no idea what I was doing. In many ways, I still don’t know what I’m doing. But I get up every day, blessed to do what I do, and always look for a solution to solve our clients greatest language needs.

What makes our language services innovative is our nimble and creative approach to our customer’s biggest frustrations. We work tirelessly to ensure that deadlines are met (I’m talking about staying awake until 3:00 am to receive a translation from across the globe to deliver a project.) We create solutions that go above-and-beyond our customer’s wildest dreams. (Like the time we ‘hid’ 16 interpreters in the orchestra pit and across a variety of green rooms for a huge international sales rally.) And we really know how to put on a show when the pressure is on and the stakes are high (especially when interpreting for former United States Presidents, oh, and Katy Perry.)

I am so proud of the work that we are allowed to do. But what makes me the proudest is knowing that my son is growing up knowing that women can do anything they set their minds to and the hope that he will carry that message with him as he continues to grown into a young man.

Thank you NAWBO-MN for the work that you do daily to support women entrepreneurs! Interested in attending the event? Learn more about the NAWBO Achieve! Awards.
